WMMC Offers Safe Sitter Class

Warrensburg, MO (January 23, 2018)—Do you feel comfortable leaving your young teen home alone – even for short periods of time? Are you ready for your young teen to start watching younger siblings? Learning life-saving skills is important at any age. Western Missouri Medical Center (WMMC) is offering a Safe Sitter class on Sunday, February 18, from 9 am to 3:30 pm in Innes I at 427 Burkarth Road, Warrensburg, MO, located behind the hospital.

Safe Sitter® prepares students in grades 6-8 to be safe when they’re home alone, watching younger siblings, or babysitting. Register your child for our upcoming Safe Sitter class to help prepare him or her to handle a situation that may come up when home alone.

For only $40, your teen will learn important life-saving skills such as how to rescue someone who’s choking, and helpful information like what to do if there is severe weather. The lessons are filled with fun activities and role-playing exercises. Students even get to use CPR manikins to practice CPR and choking rescue. Class fee includes learning materials and lunch.

To register, please contact Kayleen Thomas, Clinical Educator, at (660) 262-2500 ext.7926 or kmthomas@wmmc.com. Registrations are due by Wednesday, February 14, and have peace of mind that your child is ready to handle those emergency situations.
