WMMC Hosts Warrensburg’s Global Big Latch On Event to Celebrate World Breast Feeding Week

Warrensburg, MO (Aug 4, 2018)— Western Missouri Medical Center (WMMC) will host the Warrensburg community’s Global Big Latch On event Saturday August 4th, 2018 at 10:30AM This event will raise awareness of the benefits of breastfeeding and the need for global support.

At this event from 10:30-10:31AM, thousands of breastfeeding mothers across will gather in their communities to take part in the Global Big Latch On, a synchronized breastfeeding event of communities across the world. This event provides the opportunity for breastfeeding women to get together in their local communities and identify opportunities for on-going support.

 

The Global Big Latch On is organized by World Alliance for Breastfeeding Action as a part of World Breastfeeding Week (WBW) August 1-7th. WBW is celebrated in 120 countries and marks the signing of the WHO/UNICEF document Innocenti Declaration, which lists the benefits of breastfeeding, plus global and governmental goals.
