WMMC Auxiliary Accepting Applications for Healthcare Career Scholarships

Warrensburg, Missouri —The Western Missouri Medical Center (WMMC) Auxiliary is now accepting applications for healthcare career scholarships. Scholarships are available to Johnson County residents or students attending the University of Central Missouri, State Fair Community College, or the University of Missouri–Kansas City who are pursuing a career in healthcare. 

Completed applications must be submitted by April 1, 2026, to be considered. 

Scholarships are available to students pursuing health-related fields, including but not limited to nursing, medical school, physical therapy, wellness, laboratory services, radiology, occupational therapy, cardiopulmonary services, pharmacy, and nutrition. Applicants are selected by the Auxiliary Scholarship Committee based on financial need, scholastic ability, work plans, and demonstrated interest in a healthcare career. 

Last year, the committee awarded six scholarships totaling $1,000 each. Scholarship amounts may vary depending on financial need and available funding. 

Completed applications must be returned to the attention of Lorna Cassell in the Communications & Development Department at WMMC no later than April 1, 2026Incomplete applications will not be considered. 

Scholarship applications have been distributed to all Johnson County high schools, the Warrensburg Area Career Center, the University of Central Missouri, and State Fair Community College. Applications are also available online at wmmc.com/auxscholarship.

As educational expenses continue to rise and demand for healthcare professionals grows, additional funding is needed to support future scholarship recipients. Donations made in honor or memory of a loved one help expand the Auxiliary’s ability to award scholarships. Contributions may be mailed to WMMC Auxiliary, Attention: Lorna Cassell, 403 Burkarth Rd., Warrensburg, MO 64093. 

Applications will be accepted beginning February 1, 2026. The scholarship committee will begin reviewing completed applications after the April 1 deadline, with scholarships awarded by early May 2026.
