At Western Missouri Medical Center (WMMC), caring for our community extends beyond clinical care. Through data-driven health initiatives, nonprofit partnerships, and employee-focused programs, we work alongside local organizations, businesses, and residents to strengthen health and well-being across Johnson County and West Central Missouri.

Guiding our community health priorities:

The Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) helps WMMC identify and address unmet health needs in the communities we serve. Conducted every three years, the CHNA uses community input and data to guide health improvement efforts and community partnerships.

Our most recent CHNA was completed in March 2025.

Athletics Partnerships

WMMC is committed to supporting the people and organizations that make our community a great place to live, work, learn, and play. Our athletics partnerships extend that commitment beyond the walls of the hospital, supporting the health and well-being of local student-athletes.

University of Central Missouri Athletics

Supporting Jennies and Mules on and off the field:

WMMC partners with UCM Athletics to support University of Central Missouri student-athletes and the Warrensburg community. Some of our physicians serve as team physicians for UCM student-athletes, providing medical expertise and supporting their health and well-being throughout the season.

WMMC also connects with UCM teams, coaches, students, alumni, and fans through athletics sponsorships, community events, and health and wellness initiatives.

Warrensburg Athletics

Dedicated support for Warrensburg student-athletes:

Through our partnership with Warrensburg R-VI School District, WMMC provides dedicated athletic training services to Warrensburg student-athletes. Emily Wilhite, MS, LAT, ATC, serves as the district’s full-time Athletic Trainer, providing support throughout the school year.

From injury prevention and assessment to rehabilitation, emergency care, and return-to-play support, Emily helps keep student-athletes healthy, safe, and ready to compete.
