WMMC President Elected to ACHE Council of Regents

Warrensburg, MO — Darinda J. Dick, MSN, RN, FACHE, President and CEO of Western Missouri Medical Center, has been elected to serve a 3-year term on the Council of Regents of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE), the nation’s leading professional society for healthcare leaders.

The ACHE is a professional society that has advanced leaders and the field of healthcare for more than 90 years by providing access networking, education and career development at the local level. Their network of 76 chapters includes more than 49,000 healthcare executives from across the country.

The Council of Regents consists of district-elected leaders who represent members, strengthening the organization’s impact by providing insight into policies, programs, services, and the needs of their regions. Key responsibilities include advising the Board of Governors and electing its members, supporting governance, and ensuring the Board of Governors can effectively guide the national organization and execute ACHE’s mission.

“I am deeply honored to be elected to the ACHE Council of Regents, representing my district and contributing to the advancement of healthcare leadership,” said Darinda. “At the heart of my commitment is ACHE’s value of Lifelong Learning, which I believe is essential to achieving excellence in healthcare. By continuously striving to learn, innovate, and improve, we empower ourselves and our teams to address the evolving challenges in our field. I look forward to working with my fellow Regents to support ACHE’s mission and help shape the future of healthcare leadership for the benefit of our organizations, communities, and patients.”

Darinda earned the prestigious FACHE® credential in March of 2024, signaling her board certification in healthcare management. Only 8,651 healthcare executives currently hold fellow status, representing the achievement of the highest standard of professional development.

“The healthcare management field plays a vital role in providing high-quality care to the people in our communities, which makes having a standard of excellence promoted by a professional organization critically important,” said Deborah J. Bowen, FACHE, CAE, president and CEO of ACHE. “By becoming an ACHE Fellow and earning the distinction of board certification from ACHE, healthcare leaders demonstrate a commitment to excellence in serving their patients and the community.”

Darinda is an experienced healthcare leader with over a decade at WMMC, where she has driven initiatives to improve patient outcomes and access to care in rural communities. She played a key role in recruiting 25+ providers, launching the Integrated Community Care Network, and leading the region’s first drive-thru COVID-19 testing center. Under her leadership, WMMC earned high-quality designations in Time Critical Diagnosis care (stroke, trauma, STEMI) and two prestigious CMS 5-Star ratings. Beyond the hospital, Darinda is actively engaged in healthcare innovation, policy development, and community growth.
