Craig Conant, President of the Nancy Anderson Park/Children’s Memorial Gardens Board, presents a donation for the Western Missouri Medical Center Foundation to WMMC staff members at the 2024 Purse Palooza fundraiser on April 25, 2024.

Warrensburg, MO – The Western Missouri Medical Center (WMMC) Foundation is thrilled to announce a significant contribution from the Nancy Anderson Park/Children’s Memorial Gardens, aimed at supporting families coping with the loss of a baby. This generous donation will be allocated towards the procurement of essential bereavement equipment and supplies for the WMMC Obstetrics (OB) Unit.

Among the items to be purchased are a large cooling crib, camera, printer, beverage tubs, bracelet beds, forget-me-not seed packages, and locally crafted knitted animals. These resources will profoundly enhance the support and comfort WMMC can offer to grieving parents and their families during their time of need.

Craig Conant, President of the Nancy Anderson Park/Children’s Memorial Gardens Board, expressed his enthusiasm for the collaboration. “We are extremely pleased to donate $9,000 towards bereavement equipment used by the OB/GYN department to assist families who have lost children in the hospital,” said Conant. “The only way this is possible is because we are blessed by the generosity of our local community through personal donations and their continued support of our Purse Palooza annual fundraiser. We continue to find ways to assist bereaved families by adding their child’s name to the memorial wall at no cost and by also providing grants to assist with funeral/headstone expenses for families in financial need during this very trying time. It is our honor and privilege to represent the generosity of so many caring people in Warrensburg by providing this donation.”

Celeste Clelland, Director of the Women’s and Children’s service line at WMMC, emphasized the significance of this donation. “The generosity of the Nancy Anderson Park/Children’s Memorial Gardens Board will make a profound difference in the lives of families experiencing the devastating loss of a child,” said Clelland. “These resources will enable us to enhance the care and support we provide during such a sensitive and challenging time, ensuring that families feel valued and supported throughout their journey of healing.”

WMMC and the WMMC Foundation extends its deepest gratitude to the Nancy Anderson Park/Children’s Memorial Gardens Board for their compassion and generosity. Together, we are dedicated to providing exceptional care and support to our community, especially during life’s most difficult moments.
