The Samsung RS85 Prestige Ultrasound System provides detailed breast imaging, particularly for women with dense breast tissue, helping providers make more informed diagnostic decisions.

A second 3D mammography system with stereotactic breast biopsy capabilities is scheduled for installation in fall 2026, further expanding access to advanced breast imaging services.

PET/CT Imaging

Western Missouri Medical Center is proud to offer the only permanent, hospital-based PET/CT scanner in the region, providing advanced diagnostic imaging for patients who need specialized care.

PET/CT combines two imaging technologies—positron emission tomography (PET) and computed tomography (CT)—to show both the structure of the body and how tissues are functioning. This allows physicians to detect, locate, and evaluate disease with greater detail to support diagnosis, treatment planning, and ongoing care.

PET/CT plays an important role in evaluating conditions such as cancer, heart disease, and neurological disorders.

PET/CT Services include:

  • General Oncology PET/CT
  • Prostate Cancer PET/CT

Benefits of Our On-Site PET/CT Scanner

  • More precise cancer detection and staging by identifying areas of increased metabolic activity in the body
  • Improved treatment planning by helping providers determine the location, size, and activity of disease
  • Better monitoring of treatment response by showing how disease responds to therapy over time
  • Earlier detection of disease changes that may not be visible through traditional imaging alone
  • Comprehensive diagnostic information in a single exam by combining PET and CT technology
  • Expanded access to advanced imaging locally so patients can receive specialized services close to home

Cardiac Imaging

Our cardiac imaging services help evaluate heart health, identify cardiovascular disease, and support your provider in developing an effective treatment plan.

Services include:

  • Echocardiography
  • Coronary CT Angiography
  • Nuclear Medicine Stress Testing
Nuclear Medicine

Nuclear medicine is a specialized type of imaging that uses a very small amount of a safe tracer to see how your organs and tissues are functioning. This information helps your provider diagnose and monitor a variety of conditions and can provide details that other imaging tests may not show.

Interventional Radiology

Western Missouri Medical Center offers Interventional Radiology (IR), providing minimally invasive, image-guided procedures that can help diagnose and treat a variety of conditions.

Using advanced imaging technology, our experienced team performs procedures designed to provide effective treatment options while often reducing recovery time compared to traditional surgery.
