Claim Aid

Claim Aid: Help Finding Healthcare Coverage

Navigating Healthcare Coverage and Financial Assistance

Understanding healthcare coverage can be complicated, especially when you are uninsured or underinsured. Western Missouri Medical Center partners with Claim Aid to help patients explore healthcare coverage and financial assistance programs that may make medical care more affordable.

Claim Aid Advocates provide free assistance with the screening, application, and enrollment process. Assistance is available before, during or after a hospital visit.

Who Can Claim Aid Help?

Claim Aid can assist uninsured and underinsured patients, including patients who may need coverage or assistance outside of traditional Medicaid.

An Advocate will talk with you about your situation, help identify programs you may be eligible for, and guide you through the application process. Eligibility varies by program and individual circumstances.

Healthcare Coverage and Assistance Programs

Depending on your individual circumstances, Claim Aid may help you explore and apply for programs such as:
  • Traditional Medicaid
  • Health Insurance Marketplace plans
  • Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP)
  • Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI)
  • Supplemental Security Income (SSI)
  • Breast and Cervical Cancer Programs
  • COBRA and other insurance programs
  • Compensation for Victims of Violent Crime
  • Other state and federal healthcare programs

Claim Aid can help you understand your options and guide you through the eligibility and application process to determine which programs may be available to you.

What to Expect

When you work with a Claim Aid Advocate, you can expect compassionate, personalized assistance throughout the eligibility and application process.

The application process typically takes about 20 minutes. You can walk in to speak with an Advocate or call to schedule an appointment.

What to Bring

For your appointment or application, please bring:
  • A valid photo ID
  • Proof of household income
Claim Aid assistance is available at any time—whether you are preparing for a hospital visit, currently receiving care or following up after your visit.

Free Assistance for Patients

There is no cost to patients for Claim Aid’s services.

An Advocate will help you understand your options and determine whether you may qualify for available programs. Not everyone will qualify for every program, but Claim Aid can help you understand your options and navigate the eligibility process.
