WMMC Event Guidelines

Creating a Safe, Respectful and Welcoming Experience

Western Missouri Medical Center (WMMC) is committed to providing safe, welcoming and respectful events where everyone can learn, ask questions and participate. These guidelines help create a positive experience for attendees, speakers and WMMC staff.

Expectations for All Participants

By attending a WMMC event, you agree to:

• Be respectful. Treat attendees, speakers and staff with courtesy and respect. Personal attacks, harassment, discrimination and hate speech are not permitted.
• Keep discussions constructive. Questions and differing perspectives are welcome. Please keep comments and conversations relevant to the event topic.
• Respect privacy. Do not share personal health information or other private information about yourself or others during an event.
• Help us maintain a safe environment. Disruptive, threatening, abusive or inappropriate behavior is not permitted.

WMMC does not tolerate harassment or discrimination in any form. Anyone who violates these guidelines may be asked to leave the event and may be restricted from attending future WMMC events.

Reporting a Concern

If you experience or witness behavior that violates these guidelines, please notify a WMMC staff member at the event.

Medical Questions & Personal Health Information

WMMC events are provided for general educational and informational purposes and are not a substitute for personalized medical advice.

For questions about your individual health, please speak with your healthcare provider. To protect your privacy, please avoid sharing personal health information about yourself or others during an event.

Resources & Non-Endorsement

WMMC may provide information or resources from event speakers, community organizations or other third parties. Providing these resources does not constitute an endorsement by WMMC of any particular organization, product, service or viewpoint.

Media Inquiries

Members of the media should contact the WMMC Communications & Development Office at 660-262-7456 or [email protected] for press inquiries.

Media questions will not be addressed through event Q&A.

Photo & Video

By registering for or attending a WMMC event, you consent to WMMC photographing, recording and/or interviewing you during the event and using that content for WMMC communications, marketing, education and promotional purposes, without compensation.

You understand that WMMC may use, reproduce, publish, display, modify and distribute photographs, videos and interviews in print, electronic and digital formats, including on websites and social media. You also understand that WMMC may identify you by name and other identifying information in connection with this content.

By attending the event, you release WMMC and those authorized by WMMC from any obligation to provide notice or compensation for these uses.
