Our Purpose
The Western Missouri Medical Center Foundation fosters community support and philanthropy to advance WMMC’s mission of delivering high-quality healthcare close to home. Through generous gifts of all sizes, we help ensure access to modern facilities, advanced technology, and exceptional care for our region.
Established in 1987, the WMMC Foundation has long served as a vital partner in strengthening local healthcare. In 2015, the Foundation underwent a major revitalization, expanding its Board and creating five committees now supported by more than 70 community leaders to better address the evolving needs of those we serve.

From elegant galas like Fire & Ice and the Summer Soirée to community-driven initiatives such as the Day of Giving, Life & Legacy educational sessions, each experience offers a meaningful way to engage and give back. Investing in What Matters Most
The WMMC Foundation’s current campaign, Empower Through Early Detection, is dedicated to bringing advanced breast cancer screening technology to Western Missouri Medical Center. This $880,000 initiative supports the addition of state-of-the-art 3D mammography and ultrasound equipment, improving accuracy, comfort, and access to care for women in our community. Every gift brings us closer to faster diagnoses, reduced wait times, and lifesaving early detection.
Your support directly transforms local healthcare by funding critical tools that help detect breast cancer earlier, when treatment is most effective. Donating to this campaign helps WMMC provide safer imaging, quicker results, and better outcomes for women throughout our community without the need to travel.
