FREE Community Event in Honor of National Senior Health & Fitness Day

Warrensburg, MO (May 24, 2017)—Maintaining a healthy, active lifestyle is important. That is why Western Missouri Medical Center (WMMC), Warrensburg Parks & Recreation Department and the Warrensburg Senior Center are hosting a FREE community event on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 in recognition of National Senior Health and Fitness Day. The community is invited to stop by the Warrensburg Community Center anytime on May 31 from 8 a.m. to noon for this FREE event.
Doors open at 8 a.m. with free health screenings offered by WMMC. The hospital will also host free seminars that include Cardiac Rehab discussion at 9 a.m. with Terri Meyer, APRN, FNP-C, CDE, CES; a free seminar about Total Joint Replacement at 10 a.m. with Mandy Shull, RN; and an opportunity to learn about Senior Behavioral Health with Marcie Shea, M.D., psychiatrist.
The day’s event also provides free fitness classes and multiple booths with local vendors. The Senior Center will provide lunch for a small fee. Attendees can also enter for a chance to win door prizes throughout the event.

- 8 am to noon: Free blood pressures and health related information with WMMC
- 9 am: Free Cardiac Rehab Seminar
- 10 am: Free Total Joint Replacement Seminar
- 11 am: Free Senior Behavioral Health Discussion
- FREE fitness classes: START, 50+, Aquacise, and HydroExercise, each specifically designed for seniors and hosted by the Warrensburg Parks & Rec Department
- 8 am to noon: Multiple booths with local vendors
- Lunch served for $7 for anyone, or a small donation for ages 60 and older
- Drawings for Door Prizes during the event.
