WMMC Foundation

Our Purpose

The Western Missouri Medical Center Foundation fosters community support and philanthropy to advance WMMC’s mission of delivering high-quality healthcare close to home. Through generous gifts of all sizes, we help ensure access to modern facilities, advanced technology, and exceptional care for our region.

Established in 1987, the WMMC Foundation has long served as a vital partner in strengthening local healthcare. In 2015, the Foundation underwent a major revitalization, expanding its Board and creating five committees now supported by more than 70 community leaders to better address the evolving needs of those we serve.

Find Your Way to Give Back

The WMMC Foundation supports patients, families, and community members by funding modern facilities, advanced medical technology, and programs that enhance care at Western Missouri Medical Center. Our work directly benefits those who rely on high-quality healthcare close to home, ensuring services remain accessible and forward-thinking for everyone in our region. Through strong community partnerships and generous donor support, we help meet the evolving healthcare needs of our neighbors.

We believe everyone deserves exceptional care without having to leave their community. By strengthening WMMC through philanthropy, we make it possible for patients to receive advanced, compassionate treatment right here at home. Our commitment is driven by a shared responsibility to support the well-being of our families, friends, and neighbors for today and for generations to come.

Give Today

Where Fun Meets Purpose

Each year, the WMMC Foundation hosts a variety of signature events that bring our community together in support of local healthcare. From elegant galas like Fire & Ice and the Summer Soirée to community-driven initiatives such as the Day of Giving, Life & Legacy educational sessions, each experience offers a meaningful way to engage and give back. These gatherings celebrate our community spirit while raising vital support for the programs and technology that strengthen care at Western Missouri Medical Center.

Our events play a crucial role in funding projects that directly enhance patient care, expand access to advanced technology, and support vital programs across WMMC. Beyond fundraising, they create awareness, inspire community involvement, and build connections that reinforce the importance of strong, local healthcare. Every ticket purchased, gift given, and moment shared contributes to better care for our families, friends, and neighbors.

Those special projects might benefit our employees, our patients, our visitors and/or our facilities.

Grateful Patient

So often, WMMC receives sincere thanks from patients who appreciate the care they received. But some express interest in showing their gratitude in a more lasting way, which prompted the WMMC Foundation to develop the Grateful Patient Program, a branch of the Foundation that allows patients to give a monetary gift in honor of their caregiver.
