WMMC Auxiliary Awards $1,000 Health Career Scholarships to Six Students

Warrensburg, MO — The Western Missouri Medical Center (WMMC) Auxiliary has awarded six students $1000 scholarships as they continue their studies in healthcare.

The Western Missouri Medical Center (WMMC) Auxiliary sponsors their Health Career Scholarships each spring for students who are pursuing a career or furthering their education in any healthcare field. Scholarships are available to students in health-related fields including nursing, medical school, physical therapy, wellness, laboratory, radiology, occupational therapy, cardio-pulmonary services, pharmacy, and nutrition. Qualified applicants are selected by the Auxiliary Scholarship Committee based on financial need, scholastic ability, work plans and demonstrated interest in pursuing a career in healthcare.

The 2025 Health Career Scholarship recipients are:

  • Kameron Dankenbring – pursuing an Associate of Applied Science in Radiologic Technology at State Fair Community College with plans to continue at the University of Missouri specializing in radiology. (Scholarship provided by Virginia Campbell in memory of Harold Campbell.)
  • Brooklyn Fleming – a 2025 graduate of Crest Ridge High School, who plans to pursue a Doctorate of Nurse Anesthesia.
  • Anna Lack – pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Biology (Pre-Medicine) at University of Central Missouri with plans to receive a Master of Science in Anesthesia from the University of Missouri-Kansas City.
  • Maggie Rankin – pursuing a Master’s in Speech-Language Pathology at University of Central Missouri.
  • Jillian Voskovitch – a Doctor of Medicine (MD) student at the University of Missouri – Columbia.
  • John Wu – a 2025 graduate of Warrensburg High School who plans to attend the University of Missouri-Kansas City’s six-year combined Bachelor of Art and Doctor of Medicine program.

Auxiliary scholarships are funded by sales from the Wishing Well Gift Shop, the largest source of income for the Auxiliary, as well as donations to the Auxiliary’s scholarship fund. The Wishing Well Gift Shop is open to the public from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m., Monday through Thursday and 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.

As the expense of education rises and the need for healthcare professionals grows, the Auxiliary remains committed to providing vital financial assistance to the next generation of aspiring healthcare workers.
