WMMC Foundation Announces $1 Million Raised Since Rebrand

The WMMC Foundation Board & WMMC Staff

Warrensburg, MO (October 22, 2021) —The Western Missouri Medical Center (WMMC) Foundation is excited to announce that after just four short years of fundraising, they have officially hit over $1,000,000 raised!

Kathleen Brandt, President of WMMC Foundation, announced the news to the WMMC Foundation Board on October 19th. “Due to the generosity of WMMC Foundation donors and volunteers, we have not only reached this milestone but we have exceeded it,” stated Kathleen. “I want to express my sincere gratitude to all who contributed, and notably our volunteers and ambassadors who have advocated for the mission of the foundation to support the needs of our local healthcare. This astounding milestone wouldn’t be possible without the support of our community.”

“In 2015, after years of raising both friends and funds for WMMC, the Foundation went through a rebranding process,” said Tara Carlyle, Strategy & Development Executive. “In addition to adding Board members, seven committees were formed, currently comprised of more than 70 community leaders. Each committee is charged with answering the call to meet the growing health care needs of those we serve – our families, our friends and our neighbors. This reorganization has sharpened our focus in the specific areas of philanthropy and donor stewardship.”

In the past few years, the WMMC Foundation has been able to give back to Medical Center in the following ways:

  • Charging stations, mattresses and baby changing stations – $60,000
  • Employee Relief Funds ($250 – $1k grants to WMMC employees) – $65,000
  • RFA Machine for the Pain Clinic– $100,000
  • ER Remodel & Equipment – $260,000
  • Operating Room Remodel (currently raising funds) – $200,000
  • Cancer Care Equipment & Family Comfort Suite Remodel – $350,000

The WMMC Foundation promotes community awareness and a philanthropic culture to support the WMMC mission to provide high-quality healthcare services that improve the wellness of our greater community. Putting patients first isn’t something we say, it is proven in everything we do. Our work ensures the availability of modern facilities and the most advanced cutting-edge technology right here at home, without the need to travel for care. It is through generous gifts of all sizes that help the WMMC Foundation continues its mission and provides for the well-being of our community.

“I am excited and encouraged to see such growth in the WMMC Foundation as our longstanding supporters and new donors have come together to support our mission,” stated Darinda Dick, CEO. “Getting to celebrate and work alongside our Foundation members and donors has truly been one of the most rewarding parts of my job as CEO.   The advocacy of our ambassadors and support of our community demonstrate how together we can make a difference.”
