Warrensburg, MO (June 12, 2018)—The Western Missouri Medical Center (WMMC) Foundation Board has purchased a new radiofrequency ablation (RFA) machine for $100,000 to treat patients in the Pain Center.
This equipment provides Dr. Ihab Doss, with the efficiency, control and reliability needed when performing radiofrequency ablation, a minimally invasive procedure that can provide lasting relief to those suffering from back, neck and joint pain. The equipment creates an electrical current, produced by a radio wave, to heat up a small area of nerve tissue, thereby decreasing pain signals from that specific area to your brain.
“Thanks to the generous donation of the WMMC Foundation and our donors we are able to continue offering advanced services here, such as a radiofrequency ablation, to help get our patients back to living a life without pain,” said Darinda Reberry, WMMC President/Chief Executive Officer.
This model will replace the outdated model that was being leased and offer our patients the most advanced technology on the market. Additionally, this new technology will add to the already advanced services provided to over 3,820 patients a year in the Pain Center.
“The Foundation’s large donation was made possible through the generosity of businesses and individuals,” said Dee Hudson, WMMC Foundation Board President. “This is the first of many great opportunities for the Foundation, and it could not have happened without the support from our community.”
