Warrensburg, MO — Western Missouri Medical Center and the Western Missouri Medical Center Foundation are proud to announce the success of the 2026 Day of Giving, a community-wide fundraising effort supporting the Empower Through Early Detection campaign at WMMC.

This event brought together donors from across the region to invest in advancements in patient care and breast health services at WMMC. A total of 95 donors contributed $24,037.83 in support of the campaign.

Rich and Debbie Lawson also stepped forward with a generous commitment to match all donations dollar-for-dollar. Their matching gift added an additional $24,037.83, bringing the total raised through the Day of Giving to $48,075.66.

“We are incredibly grateful to every donor who supported this year’s Day of Giving,” said Tara Carlyle, Executive Director of the WMMC Foundation. “The generosity shown by our community directly impacts patients and families throughout our region. We are especially thankful to Rich and Debbie Lawson for their matching gift, which doubled every contribution made during the campaign. I also want to recognize our Community Circle Committee for their dedication in connecting with donors and helping make this effort possible. Because of this support, we can continue advancing important healthcare initiatives that benefit our community.”

The Day of Giving reflects the continued partnership between WMMC and the WMMC Foundation in supporting hospital-led priorities and expanding access to advanced healthcare services locally.

“The Empower Through Early Detection campaign represents an important investment in the future of breast health services at WMMC,” said Darinda Dick, President and CEO of WMMC. “Thanks to the generosity of our donors and the support of the WMMC Foundation, we are now at approximately 89% of our fundraising goal, with $56,383.63 remaining to complete the campaign. We are grateful for the continued investment from our community and look forward to sharing additional project updates soon.”

Funds raised through the campaign will help strengthen early detection efforts and expand access to advanced breast imaging technology for patients throughout the region.

WMMC and the WMMC Foundation extend their sincere appreciation to all donors, partners, volunteers, and community members who contributed to the success of this year’s Day of Giving.
