WMMC President Earns Board Certification and Top Healthcare Management Credential

Warrensburg, MO – Darinda J. Dick, MSN, RN, FACHE, President and CEO of Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg, MO, has completed her board certification in healthcare management, earning her designation among the nation’s leading professional society for healthcare leaders as a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE).

“The healthcare management field plays a vital role in providing high-quality care to the people in our communities, which makes having a standard of excellence promoted by a professional organization critically important,” says Deborah J. Bowen, FACHE, CAE, president and CEO of ACHE. “By becoming an ACHE Fellow and earning the distinction of board certification from ACHE, healthcare leaders demonstrate a commitment to excellence in serving their patients and the community.”

Fellow status represents the achievement of the highest standard of professional development. As of Jan. 1, 2024, only 8,651 healthcare executives hold this distinction.

To obtain Fellow status, candidates must fulfill multiple requirements, including membership in ACHE, meeting academic and experiential criteria, references, earning continuing education credits, demonstrating professional/community involvement, and passing a comprehensive examination. Fellows also are committed to ongoing professional development and undergo recertification every three years.

Darinda’s nursing experience in Kansas City hospitals shaped her visionary leadership and her passion for providing access to high-quality, evidence-based care. An integral part of WMMC for over 10 years, she has played a key role in the recruitment of more than 24 providers and the establishment of the Integrated Community Care Network, a collaborative effort between physicians and hospital partners aimed at delivering optimal patient care. This partnership proved crucial during the COVID-19 pandemic, with WMMC creating the region’s first drive-thru testing and evaluation center and earning the 2020 Warrensburg Chamber of Commerce Business of the Year award.

Darinda’s dedication extends to enhancing Time Critical Diagnosis care in rural areas, resulting in WMMC achieving Level II Primary Stroke Center and Level 3 Trauma and STEMI designations in Missouri. Beyond WMMC, she has been actively involved in various healthcare organizations and community development initiatives, contributing significantly to policy shaping, innovative healthcare programs, and economic growth in Warrensburg and beyond.

Darinda said she is privileged to bear the FACHE® credential, which signifies board certification in healthcare management as a Fellow of ACHE.
