Warrensburg, MO (June 28, 2023) — Western Missouri Medical Center (WMMC) will open an advanced cardiology clinic in Warrensburg this fall. Heart Care of Warrensburg is expected to open in September of 2023 and will be located on the WMMC campus.
Board-certified cardiologists at Heart Care of Warrensburg will diagnose and treat patients experiencing chest pain, shortness of breath, hypertension (high blood pressure), elevated cholesterol, heart dysrhythmias, and heart valve disease, as well as many other cardiovascular issues.
“The growth of our cardiovascular service line demonstrates our commitment to expanding access to services and investing in new technology and capabilities to meet the needs of our growing community,” said Darinda Dick, WMMC President/CEO. “This is truly an exciting time for our Medical Center and the entire community we serve. The opening of Heart Care of Warrensburg ensures that Warrensburg and the surrounding areas have greater access to timely cardiac interventions.”
Mary Kate Purcell, BSN-RN, will oversee the clinic as Heart Care of Warrensburg’s clinic manager. Purcell earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Central Missouri in 2016 and brings prior experience as a cardiology manager, structural heart program coordinator and clinic supervisor to WMMC.
Patients interested in seeing a cardiologist must first be referred by their primary care provider. Local physicians can be found via WMMC’s Provider Finder.
