Warrensburg, MO — Western Missouri Medical Center (WMMC) is pleased to announce that its Rehabilitation Services Department has transitioned back to an in-house WMMC department effective July 31, 2026. As part of this transition, the service will operate under the new name Western Missouri Sport and Rehab, reflecting WMMC’s continued commitment to providing high-quality, patient-centered rehabilitation services and expanding access to comprehensive care for patients throughout west-central Missouri.
In 2021, WMMC partnered with PT Solutions to support the growth and development of therapy services, including physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy. This partnership helped strengthen rehabilitation services, enhance access to specialized care, and support the continued delivery of high-quality therapy services to patients in our community.
As WMMC continues to grow and evolve, bringing Rehabilitation Services back in-house was determined to be the best path forward for our patients, team members, and community. This transition allows WMMC to further integrate rehabilitation services within the organization, strengthen collaboration among care teams, and continue building a seamless healthcare experience for patients.

For patients, this change will be seamless. Patients will continue receiving the same high-quality care from the same experienced Western Missouri Sport and Rehab team members they know and trust. Appointments, services, and treatment plans will remain unchanged. The primary difference is that Western Missouri Sport and Rehab will now operate as an in-house WMMC department, allowing for greater connection and collaboration with the rest of the organization.
Western Missouri Sport and Rehab provides physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy for patients of all ages, helping individuals recover from injury, surgery, illness, and other medical conditions. Through personalized treatment plans and a patient-centered approach, the team supports patients in improving mobility, regaining independence, and reaching their individual goals.
This transition reinforces WMMC’s commitment to investing in services that improve access, strengthen care coordination, and meet the evolving healthcare needs of the communities we serve.
