WMMC’s ECHO Camp Provides Hands-on Healthcare Career Exploration for High School Students

Warrensburg, MO — Western Missouri Medical Center (WMMC) will host the Exploring Careers in Healthcare Opportunities (ECHO) Camp in June, providing a week-long camp for high school students to explore the exciting world of healthcare careers through job shadowing and hands-on activities with WMMC staff.

The 2024 ECHO Camp will be held June 3-7 from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. at WMMC, in partnership with the Missouri Area Health Education Center. The camp will include behind-the-scenes tours, demonstrations and exercises led by healthcare providers from WMMC’s emergency department, obstetrics, diagnostic imaging, laboratory and more.

All current high school students and students graduating in May 2024 are eligible for the program. Program applicants are required to complete the ECHO Program online application at wmmc.com/ECHO. The deadline to apply is April 12.

A program fee of $40 includes an ECHO Program T-shirt, WMMC swag bag and lunch each day of the camp. Scholarships for the program are available, and students can apply for the scholarships by contacting WMMC’s Human Resources department.
