WMMC Event Guidelines

Western Missouri Medical Center (WMMC) is committed to fostering a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment where everyone feels comfortable learning, asking questions, and participating in discussions. These guidelines outline our expectations for participants at all WMMC events.

By participating in a WMMC event, you agree to:

• Uphold the educational and professional nature of our events. This includes respecting the rights, privacy, and dignity of all attendees, speakers, and staff.
• Practice courtesy and respect in all interactions. This means using professional language, avoiding personal attacks, and being mindful of diverse viewpoints.
• Focus discussions on the event topic. We encourage participation and questions, but please keep comments relevant to the subject matter.
• Refrain from inappropriate behavior. This includes harassment, bullying, discrimination, hate speech, and disruptive actions.

We do not tolerate harassment in any form. Instances of abusive, harassing, or otherwise unacceptable behavior may result in you being asked to leave the event or denied from future events.

Reporting an Incident:

If you experience or witness any violation of these guidelines, please report it immediately to a WMMC staff member at the event. You can also report concerns confidentially by emailing us at [email protected].

Medical Questions and Personal Health Information:

WMMC events are intended for informational purposes only and are not a substitute for professional medical advice. Please direct any questions about your health to your healthcare provider. We also ask that you avoid sharing personal health information (PHI) about yourself or others during the event.

Non-Endorsement:

WMMC may provide resources from speakers or other organizations. The inclusion of these resources does not constitute an endorsement of any particular view, product, or service.

Members of the media should contact the WMMC Communications & Development Office at 660.262.7462 or [email protected] for press inquiries. Media questions will not be addressed through event Q&A.

Photo & Video Release:

By registering or attending a WMMC event, you agree to the following photo and video release:

I hereby consent to and authorize the use and reproduction, in print or electronic format, by Western Missouri Medical Center (WMMC) or anyone authorized by Western Missouri Medical Center, of any and all interviews and/or photographs/videos that have been taken without compensation. All images/videos—electronic, negatives and positives, together with the prints taken by WMMC are owned by WMMC. I authorize Western Missouri Medical Center to use, reuse, copy, publish, display physically or on the internet or elsewhere, license to any third party, modify, and distribute the interviews and/or photographs/videos, without notifying me. I agree that Western Missouri Medical Center may identify me by name and other identifying information. I further understand that no special compensation will be provided to me for use of my image and/or voice.
