The WMMC Foundation Gives the Gift of Healthcare Technology

Warrensburg, MO (February 14, 2017)—On Tuesday, Feb. 14, the Western Missouri Medical Center (WMMC) Foundation board presented a new Telemedicine Robot to WMMC.

The Foundation chose to contribute its first major donation of $60,000 to the purchase of the new robot. The new technology allows doctors to monitor patients remotely, offering patients real-time access to specialists and advanced care closer to home, right here at WMMC.

This new technology will add to the already advanced services provided by WMMC. The robot extends access to specialists for patients, eliminating distance barriers. This provides an alternative way to receive high quality healthcare.

“The Foundation’s donation of this new technology will offer additional opportunities for specialized care here at WMMC,” said Darinda Reberry, WMMC President/Chief Executive Officer. “The Foundation’s generous donation will help give our patients even more care options, right here, closer to home.”

Dee Hudson, the WMMC Foundation Board President, said the Foundation’s large donation was made possible through the generosity of businesses and individuals.

“The WMMC Foundation is extremely proud to present the telemedicine robot,” Hudson said. “We look forward to seeing the advantages this provides to the patients at Western Missouri Medical Center. The Foundation will continue to support the hospital in providing the best possible care.”
