Western Missouri Medical Center Receives Recertification for National Accreditation for Delivery of Newborns

Celebrating a National Accreditation…members of the Obstetrics Department celebrate this significant distinction at a recent event.

Warrensburg, MO (February 19, 2019) — Western Missouri Medical Center (WMMC) has earned the Gold Seal of Approval® from The Joint Commission (TJC) for Hospital Accreditation and Certification for Normal Delivery of Newborns by demonstrating continuous compliance with TJC’s performance standards. The Gold Seal of Approval® is a symbol of quality that reflects an organization’s commitment to providing safe and effective patient care.

WMMC underwent a rigorous, on-site survey in September. During the review, a team of Joint Commission expert surveyors evaluated compliance with hospital standards related to several areas, as well as conducted on-site observations and interviews.

The Joint Commission’s hospital standards are developed in consultation with healthcare experts and providers, measurement experts and patients. The standards are informed by scientific literature and expert consensus to help hospitals measure, assess and improve performance.
