LPN Training Partnership with WMMC and WACC
Western Missouri Medical Center is proud to partner with the Warrensburg Area Career Center (WACC) to provide a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) career pathway that includes hands-on training, clinical experience and financial support for students pursuing a career in nursing.
Through this partnership, Students enrolled in WACC’s LPN program complete a PRN minimum work requirement of one day per month at the hospital or WMMC’s clinic locations, working alongside providers and healthcare staff to perform a variety of nursing and administrative duties. Students receive a monthly stipend of $750 while participating in the program.
Participants who complete the LPN program and pass the National Council Licensure Examination for Practical Nurses (NCLEX-PN) exam will earn their LPN licensure and will immediately begin a three-year work commitment at WMMC that includes three $5000 bonuses awarded upon the completion of six months, 18 months, and three years of employment.
Students interested in participating in the LPN training program must complete the online application. Applicants will be interviewed for their consideration into the program. The application deadline for this program has been extended to April 1, 2024.

Warrensburg Area Career Center’s Practical Nursing program is approved by the Missouri State Board of Nursing, the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, and accredited by the Council on Occupational Education.

What are the qualifications and requirements for this program?
A high school education is required to participate in this program. WMMC requires applicants to provide references and a short essay detailing their interest in the program with their online application. WACC requires applicants to have a physical and pass the TEAS test before being accepted to the program and will conduct a background check through the Family Care Safety Registry Background Screening and Employment Eligibility System.
Is there an attendance policy for this program?
Students in the program must complete a PRN minimum work requirement of one day per month at WMMC and abide by WACC’s school attendance policy.
Will I be paid while participating in the program?
Students receive a monthly stipend of $750 while participating in the program, in addition to an hourly rate for any PRN shifts taken at WMMC.
Where do I take the certification exam?
WACC will facilitate the opportunity for students to complete the National Council Licensure Examination for Practical Nurses (NCLEX-PN) exam and earn their LPN licensure.
