Cierra Lawson, BSN, RN, CDCES, CPN, is a Registered Nurse and Certified Diabetes Education and Care Specialist from Warrensburg, MO. She graduated from the University of Central Missouri with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing while working at WMMC, and has returned to us after spending at four years at Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, with two of those years spent providing diabetes education.
Cierra’s diabetes education services include initial and follow-up appointments for individuals, as well as group classes discussing the basics of diabetes, nutrition and carbohydrate counting, exercise, medications, monitoring, problem solving, reducing risks, and healthy coping.

Ask the Educator
A free diabetes support group called “Ask the Educator” will be held on the fourth Tuesday of every other month from 6 – 7:30 p.m. beginning Sept. 26, 2023.
