Western Missouri Medical Center Auxiliary to Host 13th Annual Ice Cream Social

Warrensburg, MO (July 27, 2022)—On Sunday, July 31, from 2 – 4 p.m., the Western Missouri Medical Center (WMMC) Auxiliary will host the Thirteenth Annual Ice Cream Social. The event will be held in the WMMC Courtyard Café, inside the Main Entrance. Attendees may enjoy ice cream, a homemade dessert, and a beverage for $5. Tickets may be purchased at the Wishing Well Gift Shop or at the door for $5.

“This is one of the largest fundraisers for the Auxiliary, with proceeds going towards the purchase of an infant weight scale for Family Practice-Warrensburg, six i-Pads for e-signatures of patients for the Patient Access Department, and three H-Brace exam tables for Building Blocks Pediatrics at a total cost of $4,895.64. The plan is to display these items at the Ice Cream Social for attendees to see firsthand,” stated Sharon Franklin, WMMC Auxiliary Board President.

“Each year, attendance has been steady with about 400 people attending the Ice Cream Social. Members of the Auxiliary will bake a wide variety of tasty treats for the event, including pies, cobblers, cakes, cookies, and brownies. Essential toppings of chocolate syrup, chopped nuts, whipped cream, and cherries can be added to your choice of vanilla or chocolate ice cream,” said Pat Higgins, co-chair. “We want to thank Warrensburg DQ Grill & Chill for graciously donating the strawberry topping again this year and Morrison Healthcare for donating the ice cream and other toppings.

Last year, the WMMC Auxiliary raised more than $4,000 for the purchase of two Noro Pro-Steamers for Environmental Services to ensure sanitary, deep-cleaned floors, thanks to the improved infection control that steam offers.
