Warrensburg, MO (June 30, 2023) — The Western Missouri Medical Center (WMMC) Foundation recently received an anonymous donation of $20,000.
This significant anonymous gift will be directed to the Foundation’s Capital Campaign “Raising the Bar: Elevating Care to New Heights,” which will bring new technology to our community through a Computed Tomography (CT) machine with state-of-the-art imaging technology and Interventional Radiology components. The campaign will also make hospital renovations possible, accommodating the new CT machine. The gift brings the Capital Campaign total to more than $400,000. The WMMC Foundation has set a goal of $1 million to be raised by the end of January 2024.
“This incredible donation is essential in our efforts as the WMMC Foundation. We believe in improving the quality of healthcare provided to our patients, which is why we have embarked on this new campaign. To see our community get behind this project, and in this case, with no recognition, proves to us that we are making an impact in the lives of those we serve,” said Jennie Snapp, Foundation Director. “The donor was incredibly thoughtful with their donation, which will significantly impact healthcare advancement in our community.”
“The pandemic taught us how important rural hospitals are, how they treat people who otherwise would not have easy access to healthcare. We have also watched as good friends benefit from getting care in their hometown, or by contrast, who really struggle when they have to find transportation for cancer treatment that can’t currently be offered in Warrensburg,” stated WMMC Foundation’s anonymous donor. “We hope that the WMMC Foundation continues to support the hospital in doing more for patients than they would be able to otherwise. Quality healthcare, like a lot of valuable things in life, isn’t always profitable, which means that all of us need to support those organizations that are trying to fill the gaps.”
