WMMC Sleep Center Receives AASM Accreditation

Warrensburg, MO (June 13, 2017)—Western Missouri Medical Center (WMMC) is proud to announce that the WMMC Sleep Center has received accreditation from the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM).

Throughout 2017, Dr. Scott Eveloff, Sleep Center Medical Director; Jamie Thompson, Sleep Center Program Coordinator; and the Sleep Center staff have worked diligently on streamlining processes, providing additional staff training and implementing ongoing quality assurance measures in preparation for the Sleep Center accreditation application.

Because of the Sleep Center team’s work, WMMC’s strong application qualified for the expedited accreditation process and was granted accreditation without an initial site visit. The organization is expecting to host a site visit from AASM in the upcoming months.

“Our Sleep Center team’s hard work is a testament to our organization’s dedication to our patients,” said Darinda Reberry, President/CEO. “This allows our patients to receive a nationally accredited standard of care right here in our community.”

Sleep disorders and the interruption they have on the human body’s ability to obtain rest can have a negative impact on a person’s long-term health. Beyond feelings of fatigue throughout the day, people with sleep disorders can be irritable and unfocused as well as more serious consequences including hypertension which leads to an increased risk of stroke and heart failure. WMMC Sleep Center offers sleep studies (day, night and on weekends) to assist you and your primary care provider to diagnosis or confirm a sleep disorder.

Our board-certified medical director, Scott Eveloff, MD, has 23 years of experience in sleep medicine and he and his staff are here help you get back to a good night’s sleep.
