Meet Amanda Hill, Certified Nurse Midwife!I have been a Certified Nurse Midwife since 2011. I graduated with honors and obtained my Masters in Nursing from the University of Utah. I provide care for women through the whole lifespan, with a focus on women in their childbearing age range. My past experiences include working in the medical field for the past 20 years with the last 7 years focusing on midwifery and nursing education. Additionally, I precept nurse practitioner students.I am board certified by the American Midwifery Certification Board and am an active member with the American College of Nurse Midwives and the Association of Missouri Nurse Practitioners.As a mother of four, I have experienced personal and professional challenges and understand the value of having a positive birthing experience. My experience as teen mother was a pivotal point in my life which steered me towards choosing to become a midwife. This experience has fueled my passion to educate and empower women in their healthcare choices.I am an active volunteer in the community. Past and current experiences include organizing and teaching classes for Amigo’s Teen program, volunteer at Project Community Connect, I’m a member on the board at Warrensburg High School’s Band-Aide group, and a leader and assistant leader to 3 Girl Scout troops.I am excited to be working with such a great group of providers at Western Missouri Women’s Health Clinic! Meet the MidwivesWhile the midwifery group started at WMMC as a single person, it has grown into a practice with several midwives including the recent addition of Tracey Arwood and Amanda Hill, and midwives Krysta Ramirez-Henry and Victoria Rinck. You can meet the new midwives Thursday, October 4th at 6:30 pm at WMMC for the Meet the Midwives event. You can decide if a midwife is the right choice for your birthing experience, take a tour of WMMC’s birthing facility, and learn more about the classes offered by the Obstetrics Department.Continuing the JourneyA two-night Childbirth Class on the first and second Wednesday of every month.
