WMMC Annual State-of-the-Art 3D Breast Cancer Screenings

Warrensburg, MO (September 21, 2018)—Western Missouri Medical Center (WMMC) offers state-of-the-art breast imaging technology called 3D breast tomosynthesis for better breast cancer detection. The facility’s True Breast Tomosynthesis solution takes aim at improving breast cancer detection, reducing false-positive findings and cutting patient call backs.

True Breast Tomosynthesis is 3D mammogram technology is proven to detect breast cancer better than traditional 2D mammography alone. While standard 2D mammograms take an image of the top and bottom side of a patient’s breast, True Breast Tomosynthesis takes 25 images of the breast from many angles as the X-ray tube moves across the breast in a 50-degree arc.

Breast cancer is the most common cancer in women. Early detection is the key to an accurate diagnosis and effective treatment plan, made possible through an annual screening mammogram.

To learn more about this advanced mammogram technology or to schedule your annual breast cancer screening, call our Diagnostic Imaging Department at (660) 262-7530. You can also get your ticket for Ladies’ Night Out Annual Breast Cancer awareness event at wmmc.com/event/lno-2018/.
